The Department of Civil Engineering at the University of Technology holds its fifth international conference in cooperation with Komar University in Sulaymaniyah
The Department of Civil Engineering at the University of Technology held the fifth international conference under the title Building, Construction and Environmental Engineering, in cooperation with Komar University in the city of Sulaymaniyah, in the presence of the representative of the President of the University of Technology, Professor Dr. Ahmed Muhammad Hassan Al-Ghaban, Assistant to the University President for Administrative Affairs, Professor Dr. Farhad Muhammad Othman, and a group of faculty members from Department of Civil Engineering at the university.
Professor Dr. Farhad Muhammad Othman said in his speech that the Civil Engineering Conference is one of the important conferences in the engineering field, and that the exchange of ideas and projects between the participants in the conference will achieve many positive results at the scientific level and the development of these projects, especially the broad participation at the international level, thanking all those in charge and supporters. For this conference.
For his part, the head of the conference’s preparatory committee, Professor Dr. Hassan Hamoudi Jouni, stressed the thanks and gratitude extended to the presidency of the University of Technology for the unlimited support for holding this scientific conference, as today we are witnessing the start of the proceedings of the Fifth International Conference on Building Engineering, Construction and the Environment. We also extend our thanks and gratitude to the host of the conference, Komar University of Science and Technology.
The head of the Civil Engineering Department at the University of Technology, Prof. Dr., summarized: Ali Majeed Al-Dahwi said that the current education system in the department is the semester system for grades two to four. The department has begun implementing the Bologna Path system, which focuses on student effort and prepares graduates for the work field by possessing skills that keep pace with rapid global development.

A scientific visit to the Marina residential complex project
As part of the scientific activities conducted by the Civil Engineering Department, the Building Engineering and Project Management Branch in the department made a scientific visit to one of the investment projects, which is the Marina residential complex project in Al-Saydiyah area for students of the fourth stage / evening study from the Building Engineering and Project Management Branch on Saturday 05/13/2023 in the presence of Dr. Maan Nihad Al-Jamil and a number of students of the fourth stage - the evening study of the construction and project management branch, in order to learn about the methods of implementation of the various work items, deepen the applied and practical side, and develop the practical spirit to realize the information and knowledge that students receive from a theoretical point of view at the university.
